![]() If a section is closed are old threads still accessible or does it become archived and then inaccessible? For developers such as my partner and myself this section of the forums along with other boards like Cooldown are invaluable for tapping the knowledge of devs in the scene from years ago for the nuances that aren't immediately apparent in the conquer client. Your situation is even worse, where the downloads easily go over 1k and probably never reached 100 thanks. ![]() I know this was re-released on an Egyptian forum (I have seen the post) where somebody just claimed it as his own. I released this almost 7 years ago, has over 300 downloads and only 5 thanks. Just the same treatment as a person who joined 10 minutes ago. Oh and the members that have been active for the last 15 years, don't seem to get rewarded with any loyalty program. I also think for people to download releases by developers, based on the developer reputation, they could at least have an option to only allow downloads by users who thank there post / have a minimal registered time in the forum or have a minimum post count. I think for the future of EPVP having the Conquer online forum closed would be very beneficial. ![]() The forum has now become a host for parasites who just keep opening new server threads every 2 days, and for some dumb reason the thread gets approved, the websites don't have a link back to epvp and the post is basically a copy paste or some simple text in 72 font size. I have many many releases here on EPVP, most of them i have removed just for this reason. Enough said on that.ĭevelopers -> All the developers have left this forum because of the pure lack of interest in the game along with the fact that everything they post gets leached from this forum and placed into other Egyptian forums and then they remove credits for the original Developer claiming it to be there own.īeside that we have the issue, if i release something as a developer, it gets downloaded 1000s of times, Nobody thanks, because apparently on this board you don't need to thank before downloading and finally, you get bombarded with private messages (the private messaging system sucks and its antiquated) or forum posts because a dumb person can't copy and paste the release to make it work. Ok, so just a little bit more information, Conquer online is a 2D isometric game that has been around for many many years, it is a dead game. This forum is now flooded with Egyptians just copy and pasting other peoples work. I agree to have this section closed, why? Let me explain a few reasons.Ģ.

These new Epiphones were based on existing Matsumoku guitars, sharing body shapes, and hardware, but the Epiphone line was somewhat upgraded, with inlaid logos and a 2x2 peghead configuration. The Matsumoku factory had been producing guitars for export for some time, but the 1820 bass (alongside a number of guitar models and the 5120 electric acoustic bass) were the first Epiphone models to be made there. Other custom finishes were quickly offered: Emerald Green, Honey Amber and Ebony Grain - although Cherry was always the most popular finish for the early single cutaway Starfires.īy the end of the 1960s, a decision had been made to move Epiphone guitar production from the USA (at the Kalamazoo plant where Gibson guitars were made), to Matsumoto in Japan, creating a line of guitars and basses significantly less expensive than the USA-built models (actually less than half the price). As a first for Guild, the Starfire was available in Cherry Red - a finish that Guild named Cherry-Red "Starfire". Prior to introduction of the Starfire series, Guild had finished their guitars Sunburst or Blonde. The first models were the single pickup Starfire I, the dual pickup Starfire II (both with harp-style tailpiece) and the Starfire III with two pickups and Bigsby tremolo. These guitars were followed in 1963, by the double Venetian cutaway (335-style) guitars, more associated with the Starfire name today. These guitars all had the single Florentine cutaway body style, of the T-100, rather similar to the Gibson ES-125TC which also debuted in 1960. The models launched in 1960, were the Starfire I, II and III. Case candy includes original hang tag, strap, old Guild string box, and folder of old picks. The Guild Starfire was not the brand's first thinline electric, the T-100 or "Slim Jim" was introduced in 1958, and it is from this model that the earliest Starfires were derived The peg head overlay exhibits mild shrinking which is common to these guitars. All parts are original to the guitar. It needed nothing but a light cleaning, restring, and setup to be in top playing condition. This clean 1967 Guild Starfire V in Cherry finish has survived in wonderful condition and is ready for the stage, studio or collection (edit: sold!). You can check out more information on the Gibson ES-335 here: 1960s Gibson ES-335 guitars The addition of a master volume knob near the pickguard too sets the Starfire V apart from the similar ES-335. ![]() Not only that, but Guild's version of the humbucking pickup is little brighter with slightly lower average output than the Gibson original. The Cherry finished Starfire V was constructed from a laminate Mahogany body with solid center block as opposed to Gibson's laminate Maple. ![]() The Starfire V from Guild introduced in 1963 closely resembled Gibson's successful ES-335 model with a few main differences. His grandfather was an architect who worked designing interiors for London Underground stations like Osterly and Arnos Grove in the 1930s. It's reference points are obvious, but what's not obvious is the family connection to the source material.īidwell's co-director is Luke Whittaker. There's a tiny run-down ticket office with a little ticket booth, timetables and posters for Lumino City's version of the Circle Line. Looking round the exhibition you see lots of different reference points – London Underground design and typography, Edward Hopper's Nighthawks, governmental research buildings from the '40s and '50s. It's not a fantasy world but it's not a world we 100% know." Sure, there's a house which is also a camera but we wanted to dip into reality. "Lumino City isn't complete magical make-believe. "We weren't focusing so much on game design, it was more about creating spaces that were interesting and different and would give the user a different way to explore an environment. A personal favourite was Thomas Hillier's The Migration of Mel and Judith which was part of the RA Summer Exhibition in 2010. That might sound odd given architecture tends to be associated with functional bricks and mortar creations – why not an interior designer? But there's a lot of experimental and narrative architecture out there, especially in the realms of final year architecture projects. It's not giving enough credit but it was kind of a proof of concept for this bigger city we always wanted to make," says Bidwell.Įarly on, the team brought in architect Catrina Stewart to collaborate on the designs of the city. "We launched Lume to make sure we were able to sell this game and it was something people wanted – that we could even physically do it. It's the sequel to State of Play's previous game, Lume – a similar but smaller scale endeavour. Lumino City is a point and click puzzle adventure which tells the story of Lumi, a little girl seeking her kidnapped grandad. "So it was a natural thing to try and make games in a different way." "We're not natural 3D programmers," she says. The game isn't out until later in November but Bidwell is guiding me round the exhibition, explaining more about the models on display and the challenges involved in their creation. "With Lume we took that in a suitcase to Tokyo Game Show and people thought it was a marketing prop – nope, it's our game!" "We've had people say 'what engine did you use to get that lighting effect?' and it's like, well, we had a lamp…" laughs Bidwell. ![]() Lumino City was created as a sprawling fantastical architectural model in real life before being painstakingly converted into a digital gamespace. If you're not familiar with Lumino City you could be forgiven for thinking all of this card and wiring is entirely a marketing concept, bringing a digital creation into our physical world. ![]() Katherine Bidwell, co-director of studio State of Play, is taking me round the GameCity exhibition of their Lumino City game models. "All our games so far have had some element of handmade-ness to them but Lumino City has gone to the nth degree." On your left, another guy has fired a pistol at you. Slice him in the face and watch him explode. Throw the gun at him, causing him to drop the katana. A guy behind you is running towards you with a katana. Snatch the gun out of the air and blast him in the face. Punch the guy in front of you in the head, and he drops his gun. This allows players like me (average or worse at shooters) to go full John Wick on rooms full of dudes, gun-fu-ing madly away until none are left standing. The hook is that time only moves forward when you move, allowing the player to stand still and carefully plan each move. In many ways, this newer version of Superhot feels much more like a banging arcade game than the puzzle game that the original could be.įor those that aren’t familiar, Superhot is a shooter, with players blazing through stark white environments, blasting away at red crystal foes and watching them explode in a spray of ruby glass. This time around, the cyber-weird moments are built right into the UI of the game, but little time is spent trying to set the scene. Superhot: Mind Control Delete forgoes a lot of the original’s plot and presentation, opting instead to get straight into the action with a little bit of buzzing about, but no real fanfare. It is table dressing mood stuff that-while not helping to flesh out the world per se-at least puts players in the right mind space for Superhot. It is a bunch of hoodoo nonsense, the connective tissue that strings together a series of puzzle-like missions. My point is, with Superhot, the story isn’t the point. Eventually, the nature of the system is revealed (kinda), and the player gives themselves over to the system (maybe) by uploading their consciousness (possibly) and assassinating their own body (almost certainly). The story is some weird sci-fi cyberpunk thing, with the player running missions for “the system” in the guise of playing a game. I’ve played through the original Superhot twice now, and I still have no idea what is happening in the game’s story. What about everyone who has a video of those Olympic performances?īe careful of your assumptions, they may not be accurate. Is everyone who watches those gymnastic performances a pervert? Is anyone who has a "yearbook" of the 1996 "Magnificent 7" Gymnastics team as a collectable "weird". It's no different than watching the Olympics and taking pride in a young gymnast or skater winning a gold medal, a payoff for a lifetime of dedication and effort well beyond what a normal kid deals with in daily life. Rather than sex, the appeal is "watch us learn, watch us succeed, watch us grow", with the fans taking pride in the achievements of the girls. Their view of the girls being sexualized is the same as a protective brother would have for their sister, or a parent would have for their daughter. The appeal of SG to these fans has nothing to do with sex, it has everything to do with an emotional attachment such as that between a elder brother and their young sister, or between a parent and a daughter. because such a thing would never happen while in SG, does a bikini photoshoot, are not happy one of the SG girls was presented in a manner they could be leered over. These fans, when one of the girls, as a model, after leaving SG. SG fans are referenced as "Fukei" for a reason, which means "elder brother, big brother" and are very protective of the SG girls. For most of the SG Fanbase, it would be equally sickening to have such thoughts about the SG girls. But I do understand those who do and for the most part, especially as it relates to SG, it has nothing to do with a sexual attraction to underage girls, no more so than a parent could be sexually attracted to their own children, which is a sickening thought. Why? Because you automatically assume there is some type of sexual sentiment attached? If that is the case, I'd say that says more about you than it does the owner of the yearbook, who almost certainly does not have any such consideration. In fact, you have a couple of options.įirst, you can install directly on top of the polished concrete. If you’re already working with existing concrete and don’t want to start from scratch, the process is a bit different. If everything works, then you’re finished! How to Install Radiant Floor Heating in Already Poured Concrete Once that’s finished, you should turn on the breakers and test the system. Once the concrete is finished curing, complete all the wiring for the relay panel, junction box, and thermostat. Remember to test the cable with the ohmmeter as you go, in order to ensure it’s still functional. There should be four to six inches of slab above the heating elements. Now that the radiant heating system is completely installed, finish pouring the concrete. Once everything is installed, be sure to test the cables and sensor with an ohmmeter before placing the conduit that connects them to the junction box on the wall. Avoid overlapping, crossing, or touching two heating wires during this phase. Install the sensors and heating cables or radiant heating mats, connecting them to the wire mesh. ![]() Last, install wire mesh or rebar to reinforce the layers, using wire chairs or concrete pavers to keep them in place. Then, install two inches of insulation on top of that. Install eight to twelve inches of crushed rock aggregate on the bottom layer. You should also take this time to use a megohmmeter to test the heating element between the conductors and the grounding element. Verify that this value is correct on the product’s CSA tag. Use a digital ohmmeter to test the ohm value of the heating element between the two conductors. Put it somewhere that’s easy to access but out of the way. These enable you to change the temperature of the radiant heating system after it’s installed. If you’re interested in tackling the installation process yourself, here are the steps for installing radiant floor heating in concrete: Step Oneĭetermine where your thermostat, junction box, and relay panel should be placed before installation. They will be able to walk you through the process and explain what to expect. When in doubt, find a highly reviewed and qualified installer in your area to help you out. Remember to educate yourself and decide what’s best for you. This particular installation process falls into the latter category because it requires specialized electricity and concrete installation knowledge. ![]() Some home improvement projects are relatively simple, while others are incredibly complex. Instead of cold floors that are uncomfortable to walk on, you can have heated floors that are pleasant on your feet. The radiant heating system can also be concealed within the concrete while it’s being poured, so it’s never visible. Radiant heating works exceptionally well with concrete because it has ideal heat-retention properties. Radiant Floor Heating Works Great with Concrete Once installed, it’s maintenance-free, noise-free, highly efficient, and will provide evenly distributed heating throughout your home without blowing around allergens. This is an evolution in indoor heating that is affordable, easy to install, and incredibly effective. Electricity heats the floor, and since heat rises, the floor heats the rest of the home, covering all livable space. Radiant floor heating is a method that generates heat using electrical wires beneath your floors. Thankfully, there’s an affordable and effective solution to this problem – radiant floor heating. No one wants their home to be uncomfortable, frigid, and expensive to heat. As a result of this incredible chemical concoction, buildings are much sturdier, roads are easier to drive on, and homes are less prone to foundation issues.ĭespite all the tremendous benefits of concrete, it’s also responsible for creating cold and damp living environments, which is less than ideal.
